East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, opened a socialization mechanism for reporting Person in Charge (PIC), in the pattern room of the local mayor's office, Monday (11/5). This program is integrated with Jakarta Smart City to make the disaster response faster and more accurate.

The socialization itself was held to provide understanding for state civil servants (ASN), as well as PIC volunteers in each village, especially in reporting and monitoring floods.

"This PIC socialization and training is to provide understanding and skills to participants, either volunteers or ASN. Thus they understand more about reporting and handling PIC," he expressed.

Currently, East Jakarta already has 615 PIC volunteers who spread in 47 urban villages. As for the number of inundation-prone areas is 509 points.

It is because East Jakarta has an area of 187.75 kilometers that is passed by five major rivers, such as Ciliwung, Sunter, Kalimalang, Cipinang and Cakung that are partly in Bogor, West Java.

"Being a volunteer is a heart call, thus all the energy and thoughts contributed to disaster management is not a compulsion," he stated.
